Hi , I have been lucky enough to get a Mk1 Gt3 Club Sport the only one in white ) , I need a bit of help getting a human sound from the woeful dashboard only speakers. Idealy want a drop in substitute speaker powered by a decent head for radio / cd /ipod, so totaly simple head speaker upgrade but need some vol and bass within the difficult parameters of a dash speaker set up. Any ideas
Just to enthuse you here is a pic of the car

I certainly like the car.

I don't think you'll ever get much bass out of the fronts. I suggest you take out one of the dummy rear speaker covers to see whether the wiring is there for rear speakers (it may be - the Mk II comfort had rear speakers, which use the same 4.25" driver that the fronts use wired up as standard - the CDR23 had a fader for front/rear balance). If it is I can tell you how to install 6.5" JBLs into the rear - email me with your contact details and I'll give you the info. Dan.

NOTE - I've resurrected an old post of mine which was originally started by GreigM called GT3 Rear Speakers - I've added a photo, Dan.

Hi,

Awesome car!!

I fitted some panel speakers that contain a mid and treble speaker on a plastic base, I had to trim the edge of the panel to make it fit. But it was a definite improvement. I think mine are Alpine.

No - you don't want to do that. If you have a GT3 you must always listen to the engine / exhaust note.

If you want to cruise around in a 911 and listen to music you can swap yours with mine (regular C2) and then I'll suffer the GT3 with the poor speakers :)

I want both , engine on track and pushing on, music and speech that sound relatively human when in normal traffic :)
