Hi, does anyone know if i can change the dog ring only on my 2nd gear set in my 996 c4 6 speed 'box? I remember back in the day Autofarm used to sell these for the 915.[;)]

Welcome Jim!

Yes, you can. If you drop me an email, I'll attach the parts lists and diagrams to a reply.

Edited to say that as Mike points out below, you can't change the dog ring itself, but you can change the gear wheel incorporating the dog ring. Not that long ago it wasn't possible to purchase any of the gearbox internals from Porsche.

Hello

You can not change it seperate as the dog ring is electro welded onto the gear .Youcan change the synchromesh ring as that is seperate and is a 950 part number.

Why do you ask this question?>is it jumping out of 2nd gear ?

Hello

Who is doing the work ? we have done loads of these and to be honest the last 5 gearboxes have not worked properley going into 2nd gear we have had to modify 3 things to make them work its like the manufacturer has modified the gear set and not told anyone ! of course you get no backup from an opc as they don't fix them either.

Hope all goes well.

Mike
