Pressure drops quite a lot when the engines really hot. Move it and check it better safe than sorry.

I have the same model

Never really take any notice to be honest

Always pay more attention to the temp gauge

Oh and fuel gauge , never looks good when you run out of juice !!

evening

hope someone can help with a quick reply

just driven 400 miles today from Bruges to Stuttgart in my 2002 996 targa

once I was at tickover the oil pressure is only just over 1.
Does this seem too low?
car is currently on a slope outside of the hotel so haven't checked the level yet & very hot of course

Just been out

pressure back to normal

thanks for the comments

factory tour tomorrow so perhaps they'll just swap it for a new one!

Strangely they didn't offer!

still on a positive note, car still drives like a dream & following a great day at the factory / museum (which was free with our pcgb membership cards) it's now safely got us down to Switzerland

Mine is around 2 when hot (but water temp stable at 80). When stuck in traffic and water getting up towards or over 100, it does drop to around 1.5 ish
