Hi,

Just got my C2 98/R 996 Tiptronic delivered from a sepcialist in Coventry and first impressionas (coming from a 964 C4) are far more refined but not quite as sure footed (first impressions at least) or as rough and ready but far more modern, comfotable etc...

Need to do a few miles in it to get used to it..

Couple of questions....?

The car has a factory PCM system and I only got one disk and its from 1999. Does anyone know where I can get the latest or a newer disk either from Porsche or other suppliers. I am fairly happy to buy a later/used/copy disk etc. if I can make a saving.

Also, on both sides there appears to be a small amount of rust on the insid of the door shuts surrounding the (dont know the technical name) bit the door lock butts up to.

Its only a small amount of bubbling but obviously needs to be looked at but is this a common problem and should it be carried out under the 10 year rust warranty?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob, Congratulations on your new purchase, Autobahn I would assume?
There was a thread about PCM discs a while ago, Yes you can buy them from your OPC at £214.00 each, they tend not to have them in stock but to order. I did see an advert in PP with a company offering the same discs for less money, but I don't know them or anyone who has tried them.
Sorry can't be anymore help on the rust.
