996 Silverstone Trip ??

Would any of you be interested in getting a group together for the Porsche Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone? It would be nice to have a "Forum Awayday". I'd be happy to co-ordinate it and get some prices etc. I've no idea how big a group we would need to get together, but if 10-12 people are interested I think it would be worth looking in to.

Interested List

- Richard Hall
- Richard Carroll
- Paul James!
- Chris Milner
- David Rose

Just though I'd make a topic of it as I don't think many people are aware of this. Please reply if you are interested...

I don't know if any of you have visited the 'Experience' web site, but I have downloaded the brochure and it looks a bit pricy to me. The one-day 'Precision' course is £940. Also, it isn't clear if you can use your own car, which it seems most people want to do. I'll give them a call in the next couple of days, and see if there is a group rate, what numbers are required, and if we can indeed use our own cars.

Looks like you're right Richard. Most of the individual courses are 275 for 90mins. = 183 GBP per hour! That's more expensive than my dentist ... and its in their new-fangled 997's.

I spoke to Porsche Driving Experience today. The regular price of the one-day Precision Course, which seems most appropriate, is £940. The rate for a group of 10 is £840 icluding car hire, or £720 in your own car. This includes breakfast and a 3-course lunch, some laps on the main circuit, most of the time being spent on their own circuits. They do a 1/2 day course, which still includes breakfast and dinner, but no laps on the main citcuit, at £495. I'll take that as a 'no' then?

I'm planning on doing the track craft course pretty soon. Would be happy to try and book it on the same day as others so that we could convoy there.
