996 Technical guru?

Can anyone point me in the direction of the 996 'Technical Guru' mentioned in Post?
Gary Sorrell's name rings a bell...but my copy of Post is at home, 100+ miles away.

Can anyone help?
I believe the 996 doesn't use a vacuum pipe to the brake servo from the engine, but instead an electric vacuum pump...I have looked for this part on PET and I believe it to be this:
"Pre Charge Pump"
996 355 975 40.

Anybody know...?
If it is, I'll email my OPC for a price...I'd rather make sure I'm barking up the right tree first.

Any help greatly appreciated...

996 Register Technical Advisor Garry Sorrell's number is 01223-872872 (Work).

The latest Pre-Charge Pump is part number 996.355.975.41, and the price is £740.92 +VAT.

As far as I can make out, there is a vacuum line running to the engine - see illustrations 604-10 and 604-15 on the PET.

I think I'll have a re-think...at that price especially.
It was a non-Porsche problem anyway...I just thought I'd found a solution...but at that cost, I'll investigate other routes!
