I have a 996 tiptronic that had a noise/whine coming from the garbox/diff area.

Porsche do not supply parts for the Tiptronic, only the gearbox/diff as a whole at around £4500+ vat + fitting. However, the older 996's need the control unit upgrading at another £1000+vat.

The car is at a specialist gearbox company and the Crownwheel & Pinion need replacing as they are worn. Porsche dont supply these.

Apart from ZF (the gearbox supplier) can anyone piont me in the direction of a supplier of these parts?

Many thanks,

Rob

Hi Nigel,

Many thanks, I will try them.

Managed to get prices from ZF but I will bear these people in mind.

Do they do straight replacements or upgrades?

Have you any personal experience with these people?

Many thanks,

Rob

My C4 has had a whine from (i think) the front diff for the last 12 months. Steadily getting worse less so if not used for a couple of days. However I have finally decided to replace the front diff. Parts are coming from Porschapart. They dismantle crashed vehicles - a great source of good secondhand parts - give them a try.
