Also I see the front lip spoiler has also been painted Guards Red...those things tend to get damaged by speed bumps and the paint will come off.
its done 48k , full history , serviced in germany , previouse owner a pcgb member.
i was hoping owner was a forum member.
i can sort the interior out anyway - im going to spec it for the track.
whats a good price ?
should i pay less for a red tt , as its not a popular colour ?
cheers.

I'm in the market for a 996/997 at the moment and cars with unusual colour combinations are worth less and much harder to sell.
I've also seen turbos at the same year and mileage your looking at for 39-40k so I'd look elsewhere...good luck

Haggle on the price and if not then work away. There's plenty more to choose from

but again, each to each own. but 44k for a 2001 is really pricey. I bough mine ( ok, its LHD but I wanted in LHD anyway ) and paid 38k. And its 34k miles and in pristine condition and always OPC serviced, major 4k service few months ago.
make an offer if you like the car, I would say 42k is a good price if the car is faultless. 44k is just too much money. for 996tt its a buyers market, not otherwise. there are plenty abound.

hi. been looking at a red 996 turbo at strasse.
anyone know the car / histroy ?
I was in Strasse last week and having read your post earlier took a look at the 996TT.
£43,995 pricey? If I knew a good surgeon I'd sell a kidney to add this car to mey fleet! So many turbo's are bl**dy grey, sliver, black or blue. They are specced really sensibly, dark interior to go with the dark exterior and so on. May as well be invisible.
Apart from the 996 Turbo which a friend of mine had completely worked over and you will have seen in GTPurely Porsche last year (painted in 997GT3RS green, black 19" aloys with matching green rims, bucket seats with matching green inserts, harness and 4 point seat belts, Gemballa rear spoiler and front skirts and now for sale again at Specialist Cars of Malton) this has got to be the best looking 996TT I have seen.
The turbo is a 420bhp rocket ship, a sports car and a throughbred and this one looks every inch the part. Most don't (compared to a 993tt for instance). The paint is to die for and the matching dials and carbon pack, to name but two options, look magnificent. I would get in this car and feel excited, each journey would be an occasion. I have owned a 996 and friends have had them - great cars but never able to feel any more special (I'm talking about look and style of the interior here, not driving) than a BMW, in fact probably less so. This Guards Red 996 blows all that away.
So, £43,995 for something unique, that will stir the soul and make ownership a real joy is over the top? Don't think so - even if it was say £2k more than it should be, who cares. Cars aren't investments - they should fire the imagination and emotion. If it's affordable (important) just do it. If I wanted a 996 tt - you wouldn't get the chance to buy it - I'd bid over price to get it and wouldn't regret a penny!
PS. Before you ask no I don't work for or have any other association with Strasse (other than I bought the Boxster from them and they service my cars).
PPS. Before some clever so and so points out I have a grey Boxster - please note - the 993 is pastel yellow (I chose) and the Boxster is grey (my wife chose).
PPPS Everyone is of course entitled to disagree. You'd just all be wrong. The car looks beautiful!
its also guards red![]911virgin have a 2004 example for 46k.plenty of room to haggle!!
ps i dont have any connection with 911virgin either!
