Hi all, I'm contemplating a 996 Turbo. I've previously owned 993 Turbo, 996 Turbo & 997 Turbo. Currently I have a 997 GTS but a drive in my friend's 997 Turbo with a remap got me thinking about them again. I believe that the power to weight is slightly higher with my GTS but the torque & traction in the Turbo is the attraction for me. Obviously things have moved on & I just wondered if anybody had any successful experiences with remapping 996 Turbos. It'll be a manual I go for & I'd want to keep the car as standard as possible. Any thoughts & advice would be appreciated

Have a look at the Nine Excellence website, think you'll find all the tuning fun you need there Sometimes they have cars for sale so its worth a chat to see if Ken knows any - might save some tuning costs/effort if something is already started.
Hi
I haven't taken the plunge to re-map my car, but I have been using Ray West at West Tuning, which is situated right next to Thruxton Circuit. Ray West has a lot of experience re-mapping Turbos of all types and has a full 4WD dyno, where he has developed his own maps. Consequently he doesn't just implement a pre-developed map, he will tune the car to your requirements.
I don't know where you reside but I would have thought he would be a good person to talk to.

Having owned a 2002 TecArch Turbo auto with 63 k miles and full Porsche service history For a couple of years, It was remap by MoTech in Rugby , Warwickshire. Around 485 bhp . Total useable very quick but more importantly no down side , easy to drive in town and incredible on back roads.
Dove house in Rushden have tracked and set up the suspension to Porsche fast road Specification. They adjusted the existing bushes with no suggestion it required any new bushes. Try that at a main dealer .
The
car runs TecArch 19 inch rims with news rubber. The ride and drive is comfortable and comparing with the 966 4S which was my last 911. I had Bilstein refreshed at their facility in Leicester with GT3 setting . A little too hard and would not do again
