Thinking of getting some new ones. either that or get the D90's refurbed with just a polished lip.

Thoughts?

Cheers

What no posts spouting that Porsche didn't approve 18 inch wheels etc from the same people that fit other parts not approved by the manufacturer [8|], if the 18 inch wheel/tyre is heavier than the D90 then you will need a stiffer spring and uprated damper to control the wheel, the ride will be compromised by the lower profile tyres but it's up to you to decide if the looks compensate for it.

Porsche never approved fitting 18" wheels. Your insurance might be invalid and it'll handle really awful. There you go. [:D][:D][:D]

Hi Charlie,

The 996 Turbo hollow spokes will not fir the 944, the rears will stick out the arch by about an inch, and thats without checking the inner arch clearances. Weight wise the 996 Turbo rear wheel with tyre is 26KG, for comparison a 944 Cup 2 replica rear wheel with tyre is 21KG - that goes to show how light the genuine hollow spokes are.

There are plenty of wheels that will fit, you need to make sure you get the correct offset and/or the correct spacers.

As Paul M says, 18 or 19 inch will compromise the ride quality.

Best Regards

Andy

Just let me re bait my hook here [;)], subsequent to the oft quoted Porsche memo about 18 inch wheels I believe they have gained type approval from the TUV, and the 944t in a frock factory 968 turbo came with 18"s I think, having said that I do avoid rough roads in my car, and my insurers have extracted an additional premium for my wheels.

Thanks guys,

I did wonder if they would be too wide.. I just rather like the look of them. Going thru a thought process of 'lightly modernising' my car, and thought they would look nice (and are light). Just not sure whether I should 'modernise' for my benefit as it might affect values in future?

Does anyone think the Linea Corse Fox look nice - and would they fit they are 17"? I really like the 44 on fuchs style wheels but my understanding is that the early turbo cars running fuchs had a different offset to the later cars and they wont fit mine?

Im sure you have seen both the below but to me they look bang on
