996 Turbo - Miles between fill up?

Greg Park

New member
OK I'm looking at options on a new car and like the look of a 996 Turbo.

I noticed the fuel tank is only 64 litres and have seen a report that it can mean fill ups every 200 miles (if driven hard).

What sort of miles between fill-ups are people getting?

Thanks in advance for replies.

Greg

Hi Greg

To be honest, I'm not sure I'm getting as much as 200 miles on a tank. Haven't really been taking too much notice because I've only had the car three months and still in the "I don't care how much petrol it uses - my GOD it's a great car" zone! ;)

They are heavy - there is no doubt.

Cheers
Chris

Greg,

In the same "new car to me" mode, but my computer is still showing about 25MPG, and thats with "hard driving"

So I would say 250-300 miles per tank is not out of the question

cheers

He is right... mine I have it for nearly three years and I'm still in the "I don't care how much petrol it uses - my GOD it's a great car" zone! ;)"

I can get up to 250 miles if I drive sensibly.

Which I dont.

So I get around 190-210 miles per tank or so. Ish. .)

Hi Greg,
Only had my 996 tt a couple of months but typically urban driving its showing 15 - 16 MPG on the OBC. After a fill up the OBC shows about 195 before a fill up is required. I used to get 250 miles after a fill up on my C4S. Haven't done a good long run yet so I'm not sure what i'll get on that. C4S used to get 25-27 MPG. Doesn't half make you smile between top ups though [:D][:D][:D] Purchase and be damned while we still can!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Greg,

I would just echo what the others have been saying.

Anywhere between 200-300. With me typically 280-300, not driven hard at all, if ever.

I was doing the same kind of thinking about petrol spends, but that said the SMILE factor, driving it and also the loks that you get when filling up, is almost a reward for not getting silly miles to the gallon.

Thing is mate, car is just awesome, suppose really depends what you are going to be using it for, now the summer is here, i am guessing the miles will come down inbetween my fill ups :)

Happy Happy Motoring, they are an awesome motor!!

When you fill up a 911 Tirbo, who really cares about the gas station? I loike to stop for a fill up as much as I need to when the tank comes at half. This way, some folks would find it easy to make a conversation with the look of a 911 and then the friendship begins. So the gas mileage should not really be a notification. Otherwise, I would drive a smaller engine Porsche!

Enjoy!
