996 Turbo Tip Coupe

Hi All,
Just put a deposit down on a 996 Turbo. 53 plate, fsh, great condition, fully loaded, so pretty excited. Picking it up next week. It also is in really good condition and is fully loaded, Sat Nav, cruise, Bose, bhp upgrade, etc.

This will be my daily, but as I only go out a handfull of times a month, usually for long trips, so it should be ideal. I also have a good 50 mile cross country stretch before I see a motorway and the same on my return.

Doubt I'll see high mpg on the twisty bits, but hope to see early 30's/late 20's on runs. Won' lose sleep if I don't achieve this, but I hope I'll be able to keep my license on the 3 lane bits and in built up areas.

This is my 2nd 911. As per sig, the last one was a 964 C2, which I always regretted selling, so this is my return into Pork.

Hope to see you around!

Nice one Trev,
You won't be disappointed that's for sure!
Long runs yeah about early 30's if it's steady.
Amazing car to drive and own!
Bet your getting excited aren't ya???

Hi Richard and Steve, Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be renewing my PCGB membership soon.

VERY EXCITED!!!

I really enjoyed the test drive. Didn't go too far, but realised that it could both be a pootle machine or a beast, all down to right foot pressure. Perfect.

I used to take the 964 over to the Ring, pick up the track car from Koln, do some laps, then drive back. Usually made a weekend of it, sometimes longer.
Initially I used to track the 964 but then realised that it was too nice to crash, so bought a heap of ... and blatted that round instead.
'Might' have received permission to go over again in new car as long as I take the lad with me (his 2nd trip there, last one was about 5 years ago.)

Do you think it will be quicker than my 1966 Splitty? I mean, I can get 55 mph out of that on a long run.

Hope to collect early next week.

Hi Trev

The TT is a joy to drive. I took mine to work today because the sun is out and I could get the top down. I only ever meant to have it as a Sunday motor but I look for any excuse to go out in it.

Low 30s should be achievable on long (conservative) motorway runs. I don't bother checking on the shorter runs as it varies so much.

The car is happy to potter about town or be unleashed on winding country roads. A word of warning though, when you do press that right pedal to the floor, hold on. The car almost taunts you to give it more. I find myself chickening out so much it's laughable.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
