996 Turbo Tuning

Guys some of you know your stuff on here so here goes , I have a 2004 996 Turbo , was running stock apart from a Tubi exhaust , now I've had the car remapped + Filter , it's now running 477BHP / 460lb ft .. Would a set of decat pipes make a noticeable difference ? The car is pulling 1-1.2 bar , seems very very quick but we always want more hey , I don't want to end up spending thousands of pounds as many do ... Any ideas ??? Many thanks

I am no expert but I would imagine a decat with straight through pipes would maybe add up to 10BHP more to your existing Tubi. Beware though that the noise level will also increase.

Buy a 924 2.0 and drive it for a few days, then get in the 996 t and you will realise that 477 is plenty. My 996 T has a sports exhaust allegedly a Tubi with matching cats and at Bedford the supercharged Jaguar XKR behind me (500 BHP) couldn't close on me on the Main straight. Downside 101 db at 4500 right on the noise limit for Bedders, and after 12 laps (4 x 3) I had taken 2mm of the tyres. Ditch the air filter and go back to the standard paper cartridge, if not at least check that some nurk hasn't fitted a carrera filter, as I found out when I had mine apart to cure high engine idle speed.
