996 upgrade to i phone

The cheapest option is to use the Aux input and install in a jack socket. Mine is a 3.4 so have the earlier centre dash. I know many others have upgraded their units and should searchable.

This guy shows you how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNCgWnQ3r8o Most of the tools required can be bought for a few quid.

I'm not so sure that will work on an '03 car, which has fibre optic connections. It will also depend on whether you have PCM or radio..

Sounds like you have PCM 2.0. Porsche Communication Management - or SatNav in other words. If you also have an amplifier (Bose or Harman option codes 680 or 490) then you will need an interface for the fibre optic system - something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112500849717

On the slim chance you don't have an amp, you could probably fit a Parrot unit.

The option codes are listed on the sticker in the Maintenance Book, or on the sticker on the underside of the front compartment lid.
