996 Valuations

Hi
I am looking at a Carrera 4 (03/03) with 18,000 mls in Silver. Very nice condition with PSM, Sports Seats, Xenons and 6 disc CD. Would be very grateful on what you consider a fair private sale value (and also what trade price would be at an OPC ?)

Depending on full spec. etc, I suppose a private sale would be low £40ks, and an OPC would be asking £47k(ish). Then it's down to your negotiating skills.

If buying privately, make sure it is in perfect condition throughout, UK OPC supplied, FOPCSH, Extended Warranty etc

I would say private well below 40K. when I came to sell my 1 owner July 02 car this time last year that I bought Brand New UK with very high spec at 63K I ended up selling it for 36K to AFN. Private sale seemed impossible even though it was mint with FSH and extended warranty.

I have found over the years selling privately for cars in excess of 30k is virtually immpossible. Most people buying at this level require some sort of finance and as a private seller it is impossible to offer this - warranty is aslo an issue. I took a significant hit on my previous 996 cab which I had from new with 13k miles - to buy my current car i had to part with about 30K when part exchanged. I had tried selling tthe old car privately for months with no joy at all and it was in very good condition - I expect the new model had something to do with it.
