Hi, i'm sure this may have already been answered somewhere, however does anyone know or can point me in the direction of how many 996's were made with the X51 option?

Many thanks

Hi Andy
I’m not sure you will get the exact number as it was a customer option on 996s, except of course for the anniversary model of which 1963 were made.
Having said that someone out there may know.

Their's a old thread no 911uk that has loads of 996 x51 info
http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=60293
It was a very expensive option at around £9000 so take-up was only around 1%. I believe it's rarer on the 3.4 (+20bhp to give 320bhp) than the 3.6 (+25bhp to give 345bhp)
It was standard on the 40th Anniversary cars (1963 total of which 123 were UK registered)

Thanks Andy, that link is very useful & an interesting read. I've got Total 911 issue 108 magazine which has a short article about X51 models, but no one can pin point an exact figure. I guess i'm asking too much, lol.

I'm lucky enough to have the option on my C4S & you don't see many 996's for sale with the powerkit (excluding the anniversary model), so i'm always interested to read about the option.

Cheers, Andrew
