Dare i ask the question here. I'm looking to trade my every day car which is an E46 M3 and have the chance to go for a facelift 996c2, 28k on clock , nice options, really nice car. OR a 2004 M3 CSL with 6k on the clock ( yes thats 6k ) . both mint and similar money
Now ,, I'm a Porsche nut... as you see cayenne and 2 911's , but i really like the M3 for every day use, over here in Ireland its discrete ( its just a 3 series), porsches are still quite rare by comparison to the U.K.
any views.... Im in a delema and really cant make my bloody mind up , any views ?

Sorry - no input on this one, but having just come back from Ireland (South to North) I can concur: didn't see a single Porsche in the whole visit. [:)]

I'm a Porsche nut through and through but the CSL is the car to have over a std 996 make no mistake.....That is if you are remotely interested in the thrilling side of diving.

A CSL is more comparable to GT3 in which case it would be a tough one.

A CSL is a better palce to put your money if you're looking at residual values too.

You might be thinking that I am no Porsche nut but with a 996 TT, a 964RS and a GT3 RS on order I most certainly am but I have owned a CSL for 4 months now and it is a serious weopon. A superb track car too and sounds glorious.

I understand the negatives to owning a BMW with regards the image thing but don't let that put you off.

good luck

Yea, I agree about the track side of things and residual values are probably better with the csl.
thanks for the help

Lee's right about the sound. We have a couple of them compete in our sprint series - wow, you want to hear them leave the line.
