PSM/ABS warning lights came this morning, and car now won't move as brakes are stuck on. Any suggestions please what can cause this?
Car is being collected and will be delivered on Tuesday to see what's wrong.

I have heard of this happening before, and found this post on RennTech:

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php/topic/30546-psm-locked-all-wheels-solid/page__view__findpost__p__161962

Unfortunately he didn't post a conclusion...........

Early Boxsters had a problem with the servos filling with water, but I doubt that it is the problem. Maybe worth sending a PM to the poster if you are a member of RennTech.

Apparently this was due to an incorrect master cylinder that had been fitted (not PSM compatible). No problem since correct one being fitted.

Paul.

Did you get that from the original poster (leggedj)? There was a second poster (mattatk) who found it to be a master cylinder problem.

Either way, I would think your problem must relate to the ABS pump or master cylinder. Hopefully you will know tomorrow.

It was from the OP, and would prefer a problem with the master cylinder than ABS pump!

Looks like it could be the hydraulic control pump. A trifle £1900+vat for the part alone:-(

I dont know if this is of any help but at those sort of prices i would at least give these guys a ring

bba reman basically do all the trade repairs for all modern abs brake units and a whole lot more

I got my golf vr 6 abs ecu repaired by them

as I am sure you are aware Porsche do not manufacture the components themselves it is usually Bosch or ATE etc that is what this company does, they also have branches in Germany doing exactly the same thing
