997.1 Multifunction Tip Steering Wheel Options

Hi , I am looking for some help. I want to swap out my 997.1 multifunction tip steering wheel and replace with the centre none triangle version from a 997.2 . My new car has the three spoke multifunction wheel and I love the feel of it. The 997 has been parked in the garage and I have been using my other car and when I jumped back into the 997 for a top down three hour blast through the Peak District last Monday , I thought I've got to swap this wheel out.
I was wondering if anyone on the forum has swapped their wheels out for a 997.2 wheel. I would like to keep the multifunction, I do use it. The new avic 820 unit is awesome and Google assistant is faultless. The other thing I would be interested in is paddle shifters on an OEM 997.2 wheel.
So does anyone out there know the direction I would need to go in to get this swap done?
I have looked through the net and I cannot see any definitive answers.
  • Is it possible to plug and play a 997.2 wheel into a 997.1
  • Do I need to upgrade any modules
  • Wil the paddles work
  • Is there any additional work required
  • Can I remove myself
  • Is removing the airbag an issue
  • Anyone got any leads on where to obtain the required components
Thanks in advance.
