997.2 carbon fibre problems

Hi,
looking for advice on the most effective and economical way to replace the carbon fibre door pockets lids on my 997.2. They are factory fitted but both have delaminated as have the small sections next to the pocket.
OPG want crazy money for new ones.
Any suggestions?

Googling produces a number of firms offering replacement CF parts, but all appear fairly expensive. Maybe you could find someone who would refurbish your existing units - anyone who deals with composites should be able to help.

yes the ones on the internet are v. expensive and they won‘t guarantee a match. I personally think it’s a design / manufacturing flaw so Porsche should cover it but they aren’t playing ball.
I’ll have a scout around for some one who does composites,
thankt again

have considered changing to leather but they seem hard to get second hand and equally as expensive from Porsche. Also I’m reluctant to change the spec as it seems I’m a bit of a purist :)

hi mate, where are you located, as i would love to see one and see if i could help, we do a lot of epoxy bonding and lacquering ......we are based in up north in bolton ..:)

Bolton is down south! Im up in Newcastle...

problem is that the CF has lifted and cracked so has to be taken off and replaced I think.

if you think you could do something I could send you them, I think the dor card needs to come off to remove the lids but that’s not too big a deal.
