Hi guys

Apart from the minor service and brake fluid change there is a requirement for the followings work at 6 years -
- air filter
- fuel filter
- replace drive belt
- control all wheel drive oil (PTM oil)
- PDK clutch oil

Been quoted over £900 for the extras from one OPC, whilst another has quoted £260 for replacing fuel filter, drive belt and oil PTM along with £240 for replacing PDK clutch oil.

Any idea what is reasonable?

Thanks

OPC should work to book times for these jobs, but there is freedom to add in additional time for loading / unloading etc. What I'm trying to say is that the OPC price won't vary much, except for regional differences in labour price. The materials price will be the same everywhere (Unless you negotiate hard).

A specialist will probably charge half the labour and has freedom to use OEM parts rather than OE. On this basis I would expect a specialist to be about a third cheaper, when using OEM parts.

Hi Biker,

Looking through my service invoices, OPC Portsmouth charged the previous owner £523+ VAT to change the above while completing the minor service. That's about £630 all inc. Soon adds up doesn't it?!

Broken down, PDK oil was £230 all inc. the other £400 covers everything else on your list.

Just a thought, does the 997.2 turbo use a fuel filter? I know my service book lists it for change at 6 years but my service history doesn't show one and a quick web search suggests that the 997.2 has no fuel filter. ??

Unfortunately there is a huge variation in cost across various OPCs even thought the actual minor and major service is the same price!!

Some OPCs recommend replacing the fuel filter every 6 years whilst others are completely unaware of the fuel filter

Thanks for the info, as said previously best price so far is OPC Swindon/Cardiff. £240 for PDK clutch fluid and £260 for drive belt, fuel filter and PTM oil.

One OPC quoted £115 for the air filter, that's around £55 labour for a 5min job. What a joke

Mine has a 6 year service in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know the damage!

£550 for minor service
£150 for brake fluid change
£260 for PDK clutch fluid
£240 for drive belt, fuel filter and PTM oil
£100 for air filter

£1300 total

I was initially quoted £700 by the OPC, they had totally forgot about the other items.

Just when I thought the minor at 6 years was the cheap one after the major at 4 years!!!

How wrong I was!!

Hope that helps!!

How much was your major at 4 years? Mine was just shy of £1700. But the minor at 6 included all the advisories and new discs and pads so ambled in at £3300. Thankfully all born by previous owners. :)

As I said, I'll let you know! Did you get any member discounts or was that before you joined?

The "extras", as listed above, for the 6 year service came to just under £600 inc VAT. Unfortunately it had to have a new front wishbone (it failed the MOT) which pushed the final bill up by £500 as it also then needed a 4 wheel alignment.
