Just for you folks who perhaps haven't yet seen the 997 Aerokit, a few snaps of the local OPC's demostrator which turned up at club night this week, complete with red seat belts, stitching and instrument faces. Very.................Exclusive! [8D]

I have to say, I like that!
But...what's going on with the front number plate?
I wonder how much?
I wonder if it goes over speed bumps?

The plate must be angled for max aerodynamic efficiency[:D]
Cost of kit is £3200 + VAT plus paint plus fitting[]
And reading the Tequipment section - ground clearance is substantially reduced[&:]
Hey ....... sounds great!

Those Sport Design alloys look the absolute business. I assume the cost includes your own personal grubby faced small boy with rag to continually keep them clean?

At least you'll be able to see the rear aerofoil, which you can't on the 997, but could on the 996 (it is amazing the little things you miss in life[8D])

I wonder what they do with your existing front/rear end, does the car owner get to keep it?

I wonder what happens to the little switch on the dash for the raising of the invisible aerofoil.

You can see who is busy today"¦. [;)]

Thanks for the photos Graham I think it looks great too, though the price is unbelievable so I won't be investing in the kit for mine !

Just noticed though, on the photo with your car, have you got a large air-vent/hole in your bumper below the number-plate ? Don't mean to be anoraky about it, but on my Carrera S I've the vents for the radiators on either side at the front - as on yours - but below my number-plate - the central vent - there's no vent, it's solid plastic..! But on your photo it looks like you can see another radiator/oil-radiator..? Am I mad ??

Just curious really...!

Apologies all you're right the tiptronic has the central radiator and vent... Will hang my head in shame for a mo !

Though bizarrely the Boxster S has the central vent even on a manual (and the rad if it's a tip) and the 2.7 tip doesn't have the vent at all. So.... does the 997 non S tip have the vent then???

Notice from the pics of that red 997 that it has the sports exhaust. Does it sound good or noticeably different to standard car?

Yes it is a sports exhaust, and yes it did sound good, not too loud or obtrusive. The standard 997S system isn't whisper quiet and so debatable if it's worth the money. Someone atually commented on how well mine sounded with the standard boxes. I'm not quite ready to pull them off the car yet and cut them open to have a look in side - maybe in a few months time i'll get the plasma out!

Is this the 'Aoerokit Cup' as featurd in latest Christophorous, P.7?

I assume that this is how the 997 GT3 will look?

But lower on the spenders please!!

I have now seen this bodykit in the flesh. Thanks to Marco from the Porsche centre Bournemouth for bringing along a 997S so attired to Poole Quay event (see elsewhere on this forum).
I must say that I am not keen on the rear spoiler. The ground clearance for the front may prove a problem for urban porkers. This brand new car was already sporting scars to the bottom lip.
Personally I think the Gemballa offering looks far better but may put a bigger dent in the wallet! Eye of the beholder and all that.

Having had the full GT3 Areokit + lowered ride (30mm) on my 996, I will NOT be going down this route [:(]
I had to have the front PU painted after the Ireland trip - gets too many bumps

Andrew

Like the rear, but isn't the front spoiler just a little bit overly sculptured? - looks too EVO for my liking.

With Porsche, there's normally a functional reason for everything (as opposed to just cosmetics), so why all the extra slots and lips I wonder?
