997 and Children

Hello all,

I have been lurking for a while and I am now in the financial position to be able to afford a 997.

My only apprehension (well my wife's) is child seats in the back of the car. I think this will be the only time I can have a 997 without running two cars as my children are currently small enough to fit. Is there anything I should watch out for in regards to child seats? The children are 2 and 5.

Been asked before, pretty sure it'll be asked again any day soon :)

Thanks a lot. Noobs who don't use the search facility!

I was thinking of the below: -

Any horror stories about the dealer?

I used to sell them cars about ten years ago when I was in the business - seemed a good bunch back then, but I can't speak for now. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who can shed more light on them.

You can definitely get 2 kids in the back. We have a 1 year old and a 5 year old. I use a Britax duo plus for the 1 year old and a small booster i got from Halfords for the 5 year old if they are both in the back. I also have the isofix and deactivation kit, so can use the Britax in the front or a Jane Montecarlo for the 5 year old.

An out and about nipper 360 pushchair also fits in the rear of the car, so its possible to take driver and 2 kids and pushchair out for the day. No room for the wife then though.........

I bought a Cayenne from Imperials a few years back, thought they were ok, nothing special. The car developed a few niggly faults, but i lived too far from them to go back and get it fixed by them

http://www.bubblebum.co.uk/booster-seat/ - works for our 5 year old in our 997.1 4S Coupe - bit easier to fasten the seat belts with than those with the rigid arms that seem to get in the way of the buckle. More expensive though, but convenient for packing for holiday rental cars.
