Work this one out -

Bosch 80amp battery from carparts911 £76.80

80amp battery from OPC Edinburgh £323.45 (obviously gold plated!)

No brainer!!!

Surely someone was pulling my leg!! I have always took my business to OPC Edinburgh and can't believe they thought I'd buy a battery at that price. I bought one 3 years ago from them & they charged me £120! Come on OPC's.........do you want our business or not![8|]

Snag is if you have a Porsche warranty. Buy the cheaper battery and it's goodbye warranty! []

Ah, think my warranty may have expired about 30 years ago.
I know the feeling. How about your car though?[;)]

Kim - I think Edinburgh PC are having a laugh..........[&:]

Three years doesn't seem long from a battery Kim, especially a Porsche one. My first Porsche battery lasted 12 years, I'm now on my second Bosch one in less than half that time.

Collecting the 30 year old wee beastie on Saturday for the 300 mile drive home. Getting very excited.
Hopefully will be uneventful as I have a breakfast run on the Sunday with Region1.[:)]

My neighbour had the same prob with 997battery, recently took out a super expensive warranty, dead battery -- not covered sir! Ker-ching big bill
OPCs I think charge you for adding the electrolyte to the battery and resetting codes and sensors that need done but I reckoned I could have ( with the help of Rennlist forums etc) got my neighbours car sorted for 80 quid - but he wanted £300 worth of peace of mind!!!

The strange thing is......I asked OPC what battery was recommended for my 997- reply 80ah.

New Bosch battery arrived within 24 hours of placing the order and fitted with no problems. Noticed when removing the old battery which was purchased from OPC 3 years ago that it's only a 70ah Porsche battery. So, did they fit the wrong one 3 years ago????

(997's eat batteries seemingly......it doesn't help the fact I only do about 3000 miles a year!)

Anyway, all ok now, taxed and ready to go tomorrow after her wee winter break! Hope the weather is nice![:D]
