997 C2s tandem pump corrosion/replacement

All,

Re 2005 997 c2s 55000 miles used daily.

The tandem pump (back of cylinder head on right - part of the brake system) has corroded through the steel casing and is now leaking oil. The case is not available. So the whole pump needs to be replaced.

Does anyone know if this is practical without removing the exhaust. Has anyone attempted this?

Might be worth checking yours and getting a paint brush out.....

Thanks

Mike
I've been doing some research since we last spoke- I'm sure that there's a thread on here about the same issue by another member...

Michael,

The cars of most Register 997 members are likely to still be in warranty, so it's unlikely there will have been many tackling a DIY replacement on this part - hence the lack of response.

However, as Gary has said, there has been a thread on this that may help you and this can be found here.

Regards,

Clive.
