Any advice would be appreciated.
The yellow warning Emission Control light came on a couple of days ago. Initially the engine started normally & was idling normally for 10 secs or so & then suddenly spluttered & died. I restarted the engine & after a couple of seconds struggle, the engine fired up again & I drove off - but the Emission Control warning lamp had illuminated (not flashing). I travelled a distance of approximately 15 miles & the car seemed to drive normally - although I was driving in a very reserved manner, with no hard acceleration or braking. When I returned home I switched the engine off. I then restarted the engine (fired up normally), but the Emission Light appeared & remained illuminated.
The Porsche manual says to take to Porsche Centre to read error code etc - which I have booked in to have done - BUT, would it be advisable to actually drive to the Porsche Centre (approx 20 miles away) ? I am not covered by Porsche Assistance, so it would obviously be costly to get my car transported.
My vehicle has has only done 20k miles & has been regularly serviced etc. Last full service 2 years ago (mileage 14k) & was covered by Porsche extended warranty up until a few weeks ago!
I guess the fault could be any number of things - but does anyone have any experience of this type of fault & advice ?
Thanks in advance
