997 CAB WATER LEAK

I bought a 997 C4S Gen 1 cab in Apr and have had a fun summer. the car is parked on my driveway fairly close (but not under) an old yew tree

about 2 weeks ago i first noticed wet carpet behind the drivers seat, nowhere else

I have since discovered water drip marks on the back seat behind the drivers seat so the water appears to be dripping down from one of the steel frames of the cab roof. I've mopped up the water, started drying it out and bought a waterproof cover (and started pricing car ports!).

Apart from the change in the weather, the only other things I would mention are: windscreen replacement in June and also the latch makes a slightly louder noise when it closes (but nothing out of the ordinary).

My guess is blocked drains causing the roof to saturate and then drip during heavy rain so I'll have a crack at the drains at the weekend. Any thoughts welcome?

Russell,
I have read about similar issues, it's worth searching the internet. Apparently the drains, which vent in the rear wheel arches, do get blocked and need cleaning. Blocked drain lines can lead to water in the rear of the car. I'd be interested to hear how you get on and if you have any issues with the cleaning job.
Good luck.

Just read about this on 911uk.com they have put pictures up of where to clean, looks like I shall have to check mine as well
