997 Engine Running Temperatures

Hi all. I am just about to change my much loved 996 for a 2005 997. The 997 is low mileage and runs well. I am interested in finding out the acceptable/normal engine running temperatures that I should expect. I know that there are variables to take into accout but there must be an acceptable range. Hope that you can advise. Thanks[:)]

Thanks--I should have confirmed the type. Its a c2 3.6l. If it runs hotter then 80C water temp what could that signify?

Not sure. I only drove the car for a short test drive and only vaguely paid attention to the temps. I will go back for a more thorough check over. I appreciate your help very much indeed--thanks

As above, my C2S runs at 80 water temp and around 100 to 120 oil depending on driving conditions. The other important reading to check is oil pressure - when hot this should be at max for revs above 3000 to 3500.
