997 gen 2 indoor cover

Hi, hope someone can help. I thought I had dropped on an ebay bargain and bought a nearly new, original part , indoor cover complete with bag. It was described as for a 997 gen2...all models. I have a 997.2 C4s cab.
It arrived today and truly is in mint condition. Part no. On the bag is 000.044.000.77. I have got it on the car...just. it seems really tight round the front end and doesnt seem to pull down far enough. Ive checked and that part no seems to be for 997.1 cars. Has this been miss sold to me are they the same for both. I seem to remember someone saying the gen2 cover was specific for that model.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,

According to my Auto Data app the G1 and G2 differ in length and width, the dimensions are as follows:

G1
Length = 4427mm
Width = 1808mm
Height = 1300
Wheel baase = 2350mm

G2
Length = 4435mm
Width = 1852mm
Height = 1300
Wheel baase = 2350mm

So this might be why your snug fit cover is a bit tighter than expected on your G2

if you go to the Porsche website there's a section for Tequipment:-

http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/tequipment/

Scroll down to Tequipement Accessories Finder, enter your country and obviously then select 911 and your car type. You then want the 'Transport & Protection' icon and you'll find indoor covers listed.

This quotes there is only 1 for Gen 2's whatever model, without Aerobat Cup, and its part number is 997.044.000.10.

I've got a Gen 2 C2S Cab, and got a cover from the OPC, and that is the number quoted in the 'luggage label' type tag on the bag.

It is a snug (tight?) fit, and I've found the best way to put it on is to get the 2 wing mirror 'ears' on first, as these sort of set it in the right place.

Sadly the site above only quotes for Gen 2's and 991's. However, on a parts catalogue I've got downloaded it lists your part number as for a 997 05-08, so a Gen 1. You can find the Parts Catalogue again on the Porsche website:-

http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/porscheservice/originalparts/

Again just select the relevant model and year - it is listed in the Gen 2 parts catalogue about page 8 (the accessories are on the first few pages)

Hope this helps, but looks like you've a Gen 1 cover.
