Hi all. My 997 gen 2 has a coolant leak where the large bore rubber hoses emerge in to the drivers side wheel arch on their way to the radiator. Is this a simple fix for a home mechanic and if so where is the best place to get the parts? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks Terry. I have looked at the connections and they don’t seem too corroded, but I guess it will turn out to be too difficult to remove the old ones, as these things always are. Dropping the subframe is definitely not something I would contemplate so it’s off to the garage I think. Thanks again. Steve
This is becoming a more regular issue on 987 / 997 cars due to age.
I’ve seen forum posts which indicate swapping out the coolant crossover pipes costing in region of £800-£1200.
Some folk recommend spraying the replacement pipes steel collars with some sort of anti rust treatment, like waxoyl or Bilt Hamber dynax to prevent future corrosion.

Thanks boxtercol. I’m getting some quotes at the moment. Will post how much I pay once work is done. Steve
