Nice one Tim, I like that, or as one reviewer said "it's an improvement on the 996 model, just don't expect your neighbours to notice the difference" !!!

[8D]Me too it was nice to see one in the flesh as the things I wasn't at all sure of ie new dash, new 19" wheels looked so much better on the actual car. Parked next to a 996 one could see how quickly that car is now going to date as more and more 997's hit the tarmac.

I walked straight past 5 or 6 of them at the Le Mans Classic and didn't notice...[&o]

:ROFLMAO: What brew were you sampling at the Le Mans Classic [:D]

I saw that on the website and thought it was a photoshop of a press pic against their forecourt background. Will pop in on my way home and have a butchers. I may even remind them that they promised to call me if a 996 to my spec came in. That was about 6 months ago....

Saw a 997 this morning on the M4, Seal grey and heading west, it left the Motorway at Junction 12. Didn't see the driver as I was heading east in the wife's scooby. Looked OK but only a Porschaphile would have noticed the evolution from the 996.

It was interesting to see the very cars from this thread (Camtune's) at this weekends Porsche bash, both LHD, interestingly the car look's smaller (although it's not) in the flesh than the 996. I asked Camtune about RHD & they have a good number on forward order.......but will be expecting a premium for them. I have to say that car's depreciate enough without paying over list in the first place, but no doubt they will all sell to those that can't wait !!

Are these C16 or RHD imports? If the latter there is even less logic on paying over list.

Sunday Times is full of UK supplied new models like SLK's, Continental GT's, 645 Cabs, MCS Cabs etc etc and if you read between the lies :ROFLMAO: you can spot the cars that will go for list or just a touch over .... Shortly the 997 will be joining the get rich quick cowboys who will want to see there borrowed funds returned before adverts and interest charges really bite there bums [:D][:D]

I'm currently not a fan of the 'kettles' and from the pictures had hoped for a substantial improvement over the 996 in the styling department, however I was dissapointed with the Camtune car at Brands and so were the four or five people I was viewing it with. The ride height at the rear was so high it looked like they had fitted theCayenne's suspension, it must have been a rogue car or something I'm unaware of....quite possible. Maybe a bright colour and and an aero kit will make the technological acheivement worthwhile.
Just read another post about the active suspension maybe it sits high according to the setting at rest?

The car needs retro bright solid colours....who will be brave enough for Viper Green, Riviera Blue, Blood Orange etc.......please no more silver, grey, gunmetal boring colours![]

There is an exclusive charity event at Mondello Park this Fri/Sat. Apparently a 997 will be available on track driven by, amongst others, Paul Newman.

Another 997 is being auctioned for one of Paul Newman's charities.

If you want to go call Michael Grimes on 00353 18413100

Just got back from the Solihull 997 launch, and very much liked what I saw, much more of a quality feel than even I expected.
Good champagne aswell[8D], parking was a bit scary, although they did put on security, over 450 people attended, and parked at the front of the showroom(outside ) a merc [&:]
