997 iPhone integration

Gents,

I know this question has been asked lots of times but...I have an 06 997 Carrera with PCM Sat Nav but no phone kit. I will be doing alot more miles for business and I'm absolutely fed up with blue tooth earpieces and tangled earphone cords etc! I would also like to be able to connect my iphone to PCM to play music etc.

I've heard about all the different aftermarket devices that can be used but surely there is a blue tooth kit now that allows a smart integration with PCM (as per new Porsches?). My partners Panamera is a dream to integrate my iphone with and I feel like I'm going back 15 years when I try and use my phone in the 911!

What I don't want is aftermarket devices stuck on the dash like Parrots etc. As such, I've asked my local OPC for a solution.

MY 2007 is the same - but all I do on a journey is use Call Forwarding on my iPhone to the car phone module.

Nil cost except for the Sim card!

Hi Jason I'm sorry to say that I don't think you can do what you want to without resorting to aftermarket audio gear. I used the Orange service that allowed 2 SIMs on one number but even that won't work with flipping Apple products. So, even with an HTC, I have only had bluetooth connection in my 997 since I changed to a Gen II.

mObridge was the most likely candidate when I looked into this a few years back:

I'm thinking the Viseeo system is the best now. How do I know what version of PCM I have; 2.0 or 2.1? My car is an 06 registered 997..

In my quest to buy a 997 cab, I looked at one yesterday that had a mObridge system fitted and it was very impressive. You get full iPhone connectivity through the PCM, including phone and music. It even allows you to browse your songlist and albums. This one was called Connect2 and apparently cost £500/600. In my opinion, if you want this, this is the best kit I have seen to do this job.
