can anyone please tell me as im getting conflicting reviews , can a multifunction steering wheel be retro fitted to my car that has the normal one fitted. if so what do i need to do.

thanks for any info.

When you say a "normal" wheel I presume you mean you have the triangular airbag rather than round item found on "sport "wheel. Providing your car is already equipped with PCM (ie the colour screen radio /navigation system , the multi function wheel can be retro fitted. Even if your car originally was equipped with a sport sttering wheel a multi function wheel can be installed but you will need the wheel and a new airbag. It is also possible to install just the controls and new module to allow them to communicate with the PCM but as mentioned above the controls will only fit a standard steering wheel as the finger plates are different on a sport wheel. Once the wheel has been installed or hardware fitted to the existing wheel its a case of having the steering wheel controls activated using the porsche workshop tool and the PCM coded to accept the multi function option. Its possible the car will also need hats called a hand over procedure to ensure the new settings remain current in the event of a batttery failure. I retro fitted the multi function controls to my MY 987S wit PCM without issue.
