997 november build

Guest

New member
I have a 997S for november build, not spec'd yet. I might wait a while to change my car now. Is anyone intersted in the slot. Have paid 3k with 10% due upon final spec.

SPTEL.....
Would this be a gentlemanly offer for a fellow enthusiast to take your place on the waiting list.
Or are you speculating on a premium??

A bit of both.

One day i want the new car the next day I dont.

I am not trying to speculate here but if someone were to offer me something in return It might lessen my anguish about not buying the car.

The 997 is being launched at quite a few OPCs this week, so you should get some interest when people have seen it in the flesh, and the build date will co-incide nicely with a 2005 registration.

However, I know how you feel. I always used to get one of the new models when they first came out, 944T, 964 C2, 993 C2, Boxster and 996 C2. Now, I'd rather bide my time. Firstly, to make sure I really want one and secondly because, from experience, I believe the build and development details are more finely tuned after it has been in production for a while.

Or, why not swap your option for a new Boxster. A really well spec'd 987S will be around £48k. A similarly spec'd 997S will be around £74k! That's a big premium for rear seats and a bit more power.

My wife has a Boxster, if I bought a new one I will end up driving her old one! plus unlike you I always previously bought at 2 years old 944L, 944T, Carrera 2, 993 until 996 which I did buy new in 2002. Use as every day car and this is the first time depreciation along with what more am I gettig has become an issue in my mind.

I saw a 997 in the flesh and had hoped it would make me get excited, it just looked like a 996 disguised as a 993. Is this progress? or marketing?

Any one who wants this build does not have to pay hard cash, WHY

Blimey Jonathan that's a good collection of "hands on" Porsche ownership gives me a new idea for a post!!

I forgot to mention the wife has a 97 Boxster 2.5.

I wont mention the non Porsches the list would be too long although since the age of 22 there is only a 8 month gap of absolutely no Porsche in the stable.

I also forgot a left hand drive 924 turbo I had visions of racing!

I colud be a very rich man If I had not got that early sniff of petrol in the pram.
