997 PCM Failure - Gen 1 - 2.1

Dear Friends

My PCM has failed completely. It has been taken out for me by PCT in Coventry. I have sent it to Revtronic in Bradford. They have advised the processor and printed circuit board have both failed and that they cannot repair them or the PCM. Does anyone know how it can be repaired?

I would prefer not to install a non Porsche alternative. The car is a 2006 C2S Cab Gen 1 with a 2.1 PCM and the Bose option. The PCM part number is: 997.642.143.02.

With many thanks.

If the printed circuit board has failed it depends what the failure is. If it has cracked at all its only salvageable if you solder wire across the breaks in the tracks on it and even then it may not work properly and fail again. If the processor has failed separately to this then you would need to source one.If you know a really good Auto electrician he/she may be able to do this and fix the PCB but if not then the only thing I could suggest is a new one from Porsche or Porscheshop or try to source a second hand one from.
