...in Car Magazine this month (usual computer generation I guess but accurate from spy photos so far).

Highlights:
3.8 litre - 340 bhp (Turbo 450 bhp)
19 inch wheels standard (Lazza - they read your wish list!), four exhaust outlets
New interior influenced by Cayenne
Reduced soundproofing, lighter weight.

Front looks like an evolution of the 993 rather than 996... interesting!

Ugh!

Drove one for the first time just before Christmas (when JM79 was being serviced) and number of trim issues I did not like. The most annoying is the display of Tiptroinc gear - on my 911 its a row of bright LEDs - on the Cayenne its a numerical display (ie 1 through 6) - the 911 needs only a glance but the Cayenne requires you to READ the gear and this adds precious microseconds. BUT WORSE except in bright daylight I could not read the Cayenne gear display without my reading glasses. This might sound trivial but I found it sufficiently difficult to leave the Cayenne in auto - I only ever drive the 911 in manual...
The designers need to realise that some Porsche are driven by more mature folk!
The rest of the interior I found less than inspiring.

I think the pics look disappointing. Think they missed a trick by not using the Carrera GT lights and front graphic. Still, I am sure that on the road it will be a better car - as all evolutions of the 911 are.
