997's at Porsche GB Reading - see the 997 Turbo FIRST !
Saturday 24th June is the date ear-marked for the registers trip to Porsche GB. Don't miss this opportunity to meet the team responsible for Porsche in the UK, and a tour of the facilities at the head-office. This is always a very special and entertaining trip and a real benefit of being a club member is the level of access that we're granted. I always relish a trip to meet the team at Reading and if you've not been before then you must.

Being an OPC Reading 'local' I had a guided personal tour around the 'back' a few weeks ago whilst I was in getting some rattles fixed.

I can tell you that OPC Reading has currently 2 new 997 Turbos, both blue, both MUCH better looking than I was expecting. One in a small display area out in the back offices (tiptronic), and one press car in the storage car park (manual). They also apparently have a white 997 GT3 press car but that was out when I looked round.

The workshop is very impressive indeed. It even had 3 Carrera GTs and 1 old 959 parked in it. So if you go, make sure you take your camera!!

I'm away on the 24th, but can thoroughly recommend the tour! It totally made my month [:)]

Going to seem daft, but where is Porsche GB in relation to the Reading OPC? Got 4 hours to drive to meet up with everyone - and don't want to get lost right at the end? Where are we all planning to meet? Postcode, address?

Speak to Rob but I dont see why not if there are places left.

I gate crashed the party in a BMW last year !

Rob,

Thanks for organising today; it was well worth the 7 hours of driving to attend!

Here, here.

I take it you didnt go the M1 way home ? what a disaster, roadworks, roadworks and yet more roadworks and that was after the M25 roadworks !

We must have spent 9hrs in the car in the end but wouldnt have missed it.

C2S managed nearly 25mpg on the day despite all the stop starting. Awesome.
