997 Running costs

ORIGINAL: dereksharpuk

I found this on the web:

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/cost-of-your-car-calculator

My 997 costs me £128 per day to run . I just laughed. What else could I do?

That's cheap Derek. That calculator shows my cost is £159 per day!!!!
And that was spread over a 10 year period. I think there is an error.
My example:-
Depreciation over 10 years £50,000
Extended warranty 8 years £7200
Maintenance say £8000
Road tax £4000
Insurance £5000
So that little lot comes to £20 per day + fuel

Sorry guys, but you are amateurs. [:D]

Based on only 2 days a week usage, 3 year keep, 12,000 miles per year I came out at £ 399.73 per day! [:(]

Bl***y hell Marc, that's £438,000!!!! This must be the same calculator that our wonderful Chancellor uses to assess future road tax.[]

No, it is 2 days a week x 52 x 3 years = £ 400 per day of use [:D]

This is a bit of fun [:D]

Of course it depend on how often you drive the car. If you take it out only 1 day a week it will cost the earth, but is it too nice to drive every day to work?.

However, if you don't sell; thus no depreciation, then it all changes. This is my last Porsche [8|]

Remember, No pockets in shrouds.
