Advice needed guys...................

My car is coming up for 3 years old at the end of May. My first/last service was the 2 year/20k mile one last May when the car's mileage was 10865. Since then, how sad is this, I've only put another 2000 miles on her!! Should I get an annual service if there is such a service, or would I be wasting my money, and therefore should just wait till May 2009 when the 4 year major service will be needed??
Thanks

Kim x ( Ooooo la la!!)

Hi Kim, There is yearly check-up that Porsche do for the garage queens that do not drive there cars for £150ish i think? Its good to get the service book stamped i guess yearly for when its time to sell even if they dont actullay do anything bar a top-up of oil,car wash, kick the tyres and tell you that you may need brake pads when you dont! meoww.

You could just wait untill 2009 and get the major one done as the service schedule does say every two years. http://www.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/default.pdf?pool=uk&type=download&id=porscheservice-servicepricing-type997&lang=none&filetype=default

Why not turn up to the EARLY meeting at OPC Edinburgh wed eve and get the special offers on the night !!!! crap discount ... what happened to the discount to club members thought it was more than 10%.. on parts etc . G

My car is 3 years old this month and has done an even sadder 8500 miles but I only intend to have it serviced every second year. It did get a new engine 200 miles ago though!

A new engine ...please tell us more after that little mileage or was that the reason lack of use

No Brian- it was the intermediate shaft failed and took out the whole engine. As you know I am lucky that way as my Boxster got a new engine at 13500 miles!
I now have the Porsche Warranty.

Lucky white heather[:D]...my Boxster 2 year warranty runs out in May and I was in two minds as to renewing it but it does give one piece of mind .

Ditto Brian, my used Porsche warranty runs out in April but i will be handing over the £895 yearly cost due to some horror stories. To be fair its probably paid for itself as the radiators and clutch(RMS issue) were replaced last year under warranty.

I was 6 months out of warranty in both cases and Porsche replaced the engines FOC but with no warranties. The dealer principal told me that he can do a lot more to assist those with the extended warranties even on a goodwill basis as Porsche view it as reinvestment in the brand.. It does give peace of mind.
