997 Sports Exhaust

Hi Guys,

I am a 3 week Porsche virgin, so please excuse the basic nature of this question!
I am looking to upgrade my standard 997 C2 exhaust to the switchable factory sports exhaust, and whilst I know it will sound much better, will it offer any performance gains, especially when used with a "cold air induction" kit (+alledgedly 10-12bhp)?
My Porsche dealership are listing a fitted price of £1,800GBP. Does anyone know of a comparable system that I could use, or if cheaper I could possibly get the dealership to price match?
Many Thanks

I thought you would have been inundated with replies by now from all the PSE enthusiasts out there.

I am part of the quiet minority that did not specify PSE. I prioritized my option's budget in favour of those items that can not be retrofitted and PSE, which offers no performance gain, was well below the cut-off line. After 12 months I have no regrets about this decision and have only experienced the occasional stirrings of interest in a PSE retrofit, although if someone offered to buy it for me as a Christmas present I wouldn't refuse.

I did pick up a leaflet on PSE retrofit at my OPC some months ago the price, inc VAT, was £1,758.78 or £1,582.81 if the sports chrono package is fitted.
