Rob,
I was at Sunseeker today to pull together the details of our vist in June. Sunseeker are now taking this very seriously and are putting resources into it and so it promises to be a fantastic day out. Each member registering with you to attend will get a personal invitation from Sunseeker giving the final details but the day will go something like this:
  • Meet at 10am for coffee and photo shoot with the boats and cars. Local OPC attending with a display (trying to get a 997 Turbo but cant promise that as so close to the launch date). Opportunity to go onboard a number of boats which will be on display
  • Group splits into three visiting either the Super Yacht Factory, the Sunseeker Technology Centre or going on a cruise through the harbour out into Poole bay on a Sunseeker. Each member gets to visit each location during the course of the morning. Sunseeker provide the transport around the locations
  • Group reassembles and then travels back to my house for a BBQ
Memebers can check out Sunseeker at www.Sunseeker.com and I would recomend the Predator 105 with 6,000 BHP on triple surface piercing propellers for any register member who feels the need for speed and who has a large (very large) cheque book.. This really is a unique day out and I can not recommend it highly enough. I have done a similar day once before with the 996 register so if any one wants a second opinion speak to Johny McGirl. This day promises to be better than the last one.

There will be no charge for the day. In return we are asking members who attend to make a charitable donation which will go to SPARKS (Sports aiding medical research for Kids) www.sparks.org .uk. Sunseeker are sponsoring this charity this year so we hope our memebers that attend will enjoy the day and give genourously to this very worthwhile cause.

If anyone is interested in what will be a great day out please register with Rob not the undersigned.

Numbers have to be strictly limited to 28. Rob also has details of hotels and retaurants in Poole for anyone wanting to make a weekend of it

3 Couples have cancelled their place on this fantastic tour next Friday, 30th June. You need to be in Poole, Dorset for 9am.

Therefore, if you'd like to attend please contact me ASAP on 997@porscheclubgb.com to register and I'll see if I can get you into this trip.

Thanks

Rob

(trying to get a 997 Turbo but cant promise that as so close to the launch date).

Demand the cobalt blue one currently sitting in the window of the showroom [:)]

I have a Sunseeker Portofino 46 moored in Vilamoura Marina in Portugal that may be available for charter later this summer if anybody is interested

What a great day out! Thanks to Robert and Bob, and Bob's wife Janet for organising a perfect day. Fascinating tour of the Sunseeker factory, a two hour blast along the coast (is that the right nautical term?) in one of their smaller (42') boats and a welcome bbq at Bob and Janet's house nearby.

Thanks again.

Peter

Yes, I second that.
Bob Fairchild is gathering in all the donations to SPARKS, which is Sunseeker's nominated charity. I will hopefully be arranging a formal handover to Dominic, Sunseeker M.D. when all donations are received. If anyone else would like to attend please advise.

I am pleased to report that we raised £850 for the SPARKS charity as a result of our visit to Sunseeker. Cheque will be handed over by Geoff on behalf of the Club next week. A big thank you to all who contributed.

Please see the September edition of the Post for details of the Sunseeker day which seems to have been enjoyed by all who attended. The Cobalt Blue 997 Turbo, the sunshine, as well as Sunseekers hospitality helped make the day special and one to remember

I am pleased to report that I have just received a further two cheques taking the total raised for SPARKS to £1,000 for the Sunseeker day
