997 TT Upgraded exhaust help

Hello All,

I am considering changing the exhaust on my Turbo Gen 1 (58). I have been looking round and found the Capristo valued exhaust with 200 Cell Cats. It look beautifully made and sounds amazing when in sport mode and seems quiet in normal running mode. The gains are +52 BHP with the cold air filter system I have installed already which is fantastic.
Does anybody know anything about this exhaust and should I be looking at anything else as its expensive at around £4000 fitted.

Thanks and look forward to the replies...

Dom

I've fitted a sharkwerks bypass system on my gen2 with is pretty good in my opinion and less than half that price. PM me if you want further details, hate to offend the powers that be by discussing something so vulgar as an exhaust on here.....[:D][;)]

Love the colour of the 997.2 turbo in your avatar.

is that your car, and if so what colour is it?

Never seen an orange turbo only GT3s

Yes that's my car. On the COA from Porsche it says colour to sample but on the paperwork from the originating dealer its referred to as gulf orange. I've not seen another in RHD and I'm led to believe it's the only turbo in that colour this side of the pond although happy to be proved wrong. It's certainly a conversation piece.....[:D]

Thanks for the information. I have just ordered the capristo with computer control for the valves. Two week hand build time now and then two day fitments from Scuderia. It's costing and arm and leg and probably my house too! But a rolling road check with a guarantee of +52 Bhp with a print out to confirm apparently. Let's see what happens.... More pics to follow in a few weeks time.... If I haven't been thrown out of my home for this purchase!

I love the colour on your 911! Hope to see it sometime. Where are you based?

Thanks Dom

Thanks for the kind comments folks. I'm based in sunny Lancashire but do many Porsche do's throughout the year. I'll be at silverstone classic amongst others.

capristo is a great system I'll sure you'll be pleased with it.

Hi Dom.
I've had the capristo exhaust fitted to my turbo for the last 18 months.
Bought it from Scuderia and had it fitted by a local indy. Nice well built, quality piece of kit that looks the business and has been faultless.
You can switch between modes with the remote control and is also tuned into the PCM.
Run it in sport mode as found the open mode used to set off car alarms in car parks.
Expensive exhaust but I think you'll be impressed.

Hi Rich
Thanks for the information above, and interesting to read about Dom's decision too.
I have been weighing up options for my 997 turbo too, and trying to decide between Capristo and Kline options.

Rich, I know this is a massive imposition, but as I live near Bristol, would you mind if sometime I perhaps came to meet you for a 5 minute chat and a listen to the Capristo in the flesh please? I find it really difficult to get my head around the choices without hearing them as it is a big outlay.
Many thanks and Dom I hope you are pleased with it when fitted too!
cheers
Omar

Hi Rich & Omar

Been following the thread, I dont suppose you guys would like to meet up at say Warminster? I live in Poole & would also be interested in hearing Rich's capristo exhaust. no probe if it's too far or inconvenient.

Regards
Karl

Hi Karl.
No problem with a meet at Warminster. Good excuse to give it a run.
Over to you Omar, what do you think?

Karl, Rich
Yes i'd be up for that if we can make the diaries work! You thinking weekday (once evenings a little longer) or weekend please?
cheers
Omar

Hi

Happy to do a breakfast/coffee stop most weekends say 9 or 10ish somewhere near Warminster? or next month most evenings around 8ish

Cheers
Karl

Very jealous I would like to come along and see you guys with the 911's! Too far though, maybe another time if any of you are heading to London.
the Capristo is scheduled for the 7th March to be fitted by Scuderia. Gotta say it sounds amazing and I can't wait to annoy the neighbours.....
did anyone have an Ecu upgrade? I'm not sure to stay stock as its a fast car but hanker after more power.... It doesn't need it but like the idea anyway......

a mornings blast for a coffee & chat over 911 Turbo's can you really afford to miss that! I cant [:)]
