997 turbo squeak on start

Hi Guys
sorry if this has been covered previously but my turbo has a squeak on start up - I have had the belt changed fairly recently and previously the starter motor and water pump have also been done but it still does it.Gar is garaged so its not when its wet or cold although it is more pronounced when cold and it does go away after the engine is properly warmed up...someone who knows a bit about these things who heard it said its possibly the tensioner or idler pulleys?
If anyone has had similar let me know...
cheers all

Hi there !

I had exactly same thing with my Turbo this time last year.

After several trips to the OPC, a new alternator, new belt and much head scratching....it was finally diagnosed as being a faulty locating bolt which was allowing the alternator to move slightly thereby allowing the pulley to become misaligned with the belt (hence noise like a Lada Riva) !

Has not made the noise since.

Not necessarily going to be same on yours but something else to check if they get really desperate !

Cheers,
