Im buying some 997 turbo wheels + tyres, does anyone know if they will go straight on my 996 Turbo 2003. Or would i need spacers. Are the offsets the same on both cars.

cheers Phil

As you can see from the pictures they fit on the C4S so im hoping they will go on the turbo.

Wow, those look better on the 996 than they do on the 997...good call!
Just avoid kerbing like the plague, not sure it's possible to repair chrome alloys.

don't think there chrome, just alloy with a diamond cut face and then laquered.

Correct.. either way I try to keep them away from the kerb [;)]

garyw

I have to admit they look nice, I wasn't expecting that.

what sort of money? Do you have the Aerokit? I think I'd go for a BBS split rim if I was going to change.

Nice finish.....my Chipsaway guy who does work on the Ecurie 25 cars says whenever their 997 turbo alloys get curbed they can't refurb them (maybe as that would be prohibitively expensive?) so they just get new ones....how expensive is it to re-finish those surfaces?

problem is you have to machine the whole face not just touch the kerbed bit in, if that makes sense! also theres only so many times you can safely do that to a wheel as you are removing metal and reducing the wheel thickness every time its done[]
diamond cutting isn't much dearer than sprayed wheels about £60 a wheel for what its worth.

any answers to original question - ie do they need spacers etc? I would also be interested -

sorry to hijack, but whats that front spoiler? and do you think the rear lower"bits" ie the black bits behind the wheels have been painted silver?
i was thinking of getting my lowers painted (996C4S) but i do like that spoiler!!

its turbo aerokit but be warned the front rarely survives as it is so low - I have removed mine as it regularly gets damaged on driveways, humps etc.

Yup 997 wheels on a 996 look better that on a 997. Not surprising given the rather 'odd' look of the 997 turbo.

Meethinks 997 turbo wheels could look better on (almost) anything.

Seen a 993tt with 996tt wheels. Nope does not work. you just think, why?

Hornet and Nest???

The wheels are now on the car, but definatly need spacers. Just dont know what size !?!?!?!?

Any help ???

Cheers

I photoshop'd a pic of a 964cab with those 997tt wheels and I think it looked pretty good.

Please don't laugh too much and hurt yourselves at my photoshop skills [:D]

A flatter pic of the wheels would have helped.
