997 Turbo wheels

Hi all.
I have 997 turbo wheels on my 996 and the lacquer has been chipped by stones on the road etc causing the wheels to discolour underneath. I had one of the wheels diamond cut less than two years ago and now it needs machining again. I have spoken to a friend of mine who has suggested I have the wheels painted in silver to "look like the original" but I am a little hesitant.
Can anyone recommend to me someone who can diamond cut the wheels and be sure the lacquer will not chip. Failing that, has anyone had there wheels painted, and if so what was the outcome like.
I live in the Reading area, so someone local to there would be good.
Best wishes. Dave.

Hi Dave, I have had mine diamond cut twice now to get rid of the delamination on the spokes. Unfortunately I don't think it is possible to prevent it happening again. The chap who does mine says there is a limit to the number of times it can be done as you run out of thickness. He suggested that I have them painted silver, or some other colour, when we get to that stage!

I have not had my wheels diamond cut but refurbed for my golf, Paul Montgomery from Montys Wheels did a brilliant job properly powder coated buckles will be taken out it is just a pucker job, I have been perfectly happy with his prices i meant to add 0118 418 1111 what I have done is bought new rubber and then he returns your brand new wheels with them fitted and balanced and no marks! He does them for the trade locally as well , he will also come to your house and take the wheels away, he doesn't do the wheels himself but they go to Swindon, don't be put off if he turns up in his car as his van is out of action you can trust him 100% lovely guy with it, even took the wheels off my car and put the new ones on when I broke my ankle I have just been waiting to get the turbo wheels done after some idiot from a well known tyre changing company locally took the paint off but used so much of that white rubbish i couldn't see until he had gone He tells me the guys who do the wheels do a good colour match as i will be getting the rears done first

I'm in Wokingham and recommend Tom at TDL - he's done my 19" wheels (and work on my other cars as well) - if you email him a photo he can tell you whether he can do it in situ or whether he needs to take them to his workshop.
