looking at this http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/911-turbo-997/porsche-911-turbo--pdk-997/1930217?isexperiment=true

seems expensive compared to others, also I had an HPI check and the model says 911 turbo S-A, would this be a turbo s or just basic turbo, any of the 3 previous owners on here.
Never owned one so like to know thaughts on what they are like or would a GTS model be better option

thanks

Nope! Go drive one and you will see why...[:)] (The GTS is great but.....) Very low mileage example with a good spec and looks almost as nice as a red one....[;)] Strange it's had 3 owners in 12k miles though...

Yes its a standard turbo alright Good spec I picked up my new Cayenne on Saturday and Hatfield OPC, had a nice black turbo s 997 with lovley swirl marks over it, presumable will polish out but also a 991 turbo s below list with 900 miles on it, owner changed mind....lovely grey colour too. Looks awsome My white turbo S I thought looked amazing, PM me if you want a pic...try and find one like that...most amazing car I have had.....well almost D

At what intervals are these cars serviced and costs ect.. should this white one in the link have already been serviced? Does anyone know a good insurance company thanks

Servicing info here [link=http://porscheownerservices.co.uk/servicing/?model=71]http://porscheownerservices.co.uk/servicing/?model=71[/link] Plenty of insurance info on this forum if you do a search, including a 997-specific thread in the "members only" section. Regards, Clive

Not everybody wants a Turbo though..... [:)] Sure, a Turbo is quick in a straight line but it doesn't sound as nice as a NA engine IMO.

must say this is stunning http://www.safwatcars.co.uk/car/2012-porsche-911-gts-3-8-pdk-/1332/ except i dont like to much carbon

Or that much red ?[:D]

I think it is a reasonable price for that model and spec. On your point on ownership, I have a 2010 turbo and am the fourth keeper. PC Leicester told me it was quite normal to see a lot of owners on the turbos. Probably the prohibitive running costs!! (Don't tell my wife I said that....[:)])

It is four years old so due a major service, irrespective of mileage. Make sure that this is done, or ask for Ă‚ÂŁ2k off the price, as that is what it will set you back.....

Fear not, it might not have been meant for you [;)] I've been through some pictures and its seems that Meteor is infact the quickest colour in the Porsche range...[8D]

Are those the photos showing you at the front of a line of other 997s?[;)]

ORIGINAL: Clewsey We should rename this forum 997 Turbo only these days [:)]
I think Alan was posting his personal views and not in an official capacity. We are consistently singing the praises of Carrera and GTS in our Register. [;)] And there's a clue on thread content in the title. Regards, Clive.
