Has anybody experienced problems with water getting into the front passenger footwell of their 997? Mine was standing under a monsoon in the Lake District this morning, then a mostly dry drive back to the Midlands, and no standing water. The front passenger footwell is very soggy - looking for ideas before I book it into the Porsche centre for investigation.

Many thanks.

Hi Andy,

I did have this on my C2S Gen1 and was only resolved with a costly taking apart of the doors at the OPC. They took the covers off the doors, pulled away the water membrane and then fiddled with a thin long stick in the holes which are supposed to be self-draining. Obviously they were blocked and the water from the door went into the footwell with the passenger carpet being totally soaked. Quite expensive at close to 900 pounds as the membranes had to be replaced with new ones. I am sure I would do this myself next time around. I heard it happens to some but not all cars.

Hope that helps,
Max

I wonder why they would do this when the drain holes are simply under the door?
