Does anyone know where I can get the wheel weights?

In particular i'm interested in the weight of the 997.1 turbo wheel and the 997 Sport Classic wheel - widebody version.

Thanks

Should be able to order them from your dealer but you unless you know how many and of what weight could get expensive in hedging what you need.

Thanks Nick but I mean I want to know the weight of the rims. I'm planning to get a 997.1 turbo but would maybe change the wheels to Sport Classics but would like to know if the Sport Classics are heavier. The 997.1 turbo wheels are forged but I read somewhere that the Sport Classics are cast may be heavier. Was interested to know how much heavier, if they are heavier.

Sport Classic = 32lbs rear, 25lbs front
Turbo = 28lbs rear, 24lbs front

Definitely heavier. All weights pinched from Rennlist and rounded to the nearest lb.

Many thanks.

Nearly 2kg heavier per rear corner[]. Not too bad at the front[&o]

I guess I won't feel it?

But I'm not so excited now about an expensive upgrade that will also throw weight on the car[&o]

You'll definitely feel the extra weight, it's unsprung mass so the worst place possible to add weight. You'll affect handling, acceleration and braking, so I'd think about it seriously before jumping in.

Thanks Dan. I dont want to negatively affect the car AND pay thousands for the disadvantage. So i'm off the idea. Just wanted to consider a more modern looking alternative to the gen 1 turbo wheel.

Maybe use the Sport Classic as a rim for winter tyres when i'll be driving slow in snow[:D] and use the turbo rims in summer[:D]

Not a bad shout that actually, good idea! I'm a bit like you, I want the lightest wheels really but I just wish Porsche would stop making the light ones so ugly, the Turbo II wheels aren't any better IMHO.

The heaviest wheels they make, Carrera Sport! []

If I could find some decent light wheels that either didn't cost £2K or didn't look like arse, I'd be tempted to change. Irritatingly though I really like the wheels the car is on now, but that wasn't the case when I bought it and would happily have swapped for just about anything else back then.

Now, that comes as a surprise on 2 counts

1.) I'm surprised to learn that they are heavy as they are the chosen wheels they offered as a alternative to centre-locks on the Carrera GTS.

2.) I do like how they look[:)]

Next time don't forget that some OPC's are willing to swap the wheels on a car you want to buy. I insisted that the lack of Spyder wheels was a show stopper and they sorted me out as another car had what I needed[;)]
