997s - a good story

Following on from some unfortunate experiences from other members, I thought I may post a positive message.

I bought my car in May this year and as some of you may know have had some minor niggles, rough idling, stiff gearbox etc. I was also secretly of the opinion that the performance was not right (compared to my Honda CBR100)RR!). None of this was serious, but it took some of the buzz away from my 1st 911.

Anyhoo, 4500 miles later and I LOVE THIS CAR! Everytime I get in it it is just sublime. The engine has loosened up, the gearbox is like a surgeons knife through butter, the revs were sorted and my jaw aches from the permanent smiling when in the driving seat.

I cannot think of the superlatives to describe the driving, but as a mechanic once said to me: "unbef^&*inglievable" Whilst I regularly track my bike and did a little classic rallying in a 1959 Austin Healey 100/6, I no longer need to race other cars or worry who overtakes me but the driving experience is yet to be bettered.

Yes, I am sober! [:D]

PS only 0.8litres of oil in 4,500 miles too
