997S Tubi exhaust

Geoff

On my last 996 that I bought new I fitted non porsche silencers at 10 weeks old. I confirmed with Porsche at Reading that it would not affect the warranty. The only time it can if the fitting of the silencers has caused directly the item being claimed. My car returned twice under warranty and the only comment on the silencers were "nice sound"

It is also only about an hour or so to put the originals back if required.

I have contacted a Tubi stockest for a price. This is an economical way of having a sports exhaust as when you sell the car you put the standard boxes back and sell the sports ones seperately.

This is what I did last time and only lost £250 in the whole thing. Although I did fit them myself.

I must say, I am not a big fan of sports exhausts. I had the OEM one fitted on my 996 and it sounded dull, like it had a hole in it that needed to be repaired. I found it more of a nuisance, an embarassment.

This Tubi exhaust on the other hand is entirely different, it makes the car sound alive. I'm impressed.

They never said how much it was. Great seeing that clip of the 997 accelerating away from standstill. Made me smile.
